New tools: Bio insecticides for main coffee pests

a man in a protective suit is spraying a coffee plant in a field .

Coffee Berry Borer, Coffee Leaf Miner, or Red Spider Mite - these and other pests thrive in the rising temperatures that climate change brings about for coffee farming.

Extracts of certain local plants, so-called biological insecticides, can serve as control agents and significantly reduce pest populations. This leads to healthier coffee plants and improved crop yields and quality.

The advantages? Compared to chemical insecticides, bio insecticides are cost-effective and readily available. They are biodegradable, which helps preserve the environment, and they promote the health of farmers and consumers.

Have a look at the variety of bio insecticides that we suggest in the toolbox category of "Plant care and cultivation" -> "Integrated pest and disease management"!

The tools are currently available in English but will soon be translated into all other toolbox languages.
